Firefighters Battle Blaze At Kenwood High-Rise

(STMW) -- Firefighters battled an extra-alarm blaze in a high-rise in the South Side Kenwood neighborhood Friday evening.

The fire started in a 15th-floor apartment in a 17-story high rise in the 900 block of East 47th Street, according to Fire Media Affairs.

No one has been reported injured, Fire Media Affairs said.

It was at least the second high-rise fire Chicago to which firefighters responded in dangerously cold temperatures on Friday. Earlier, too, firefighters battled a blaze at a Northwest Side warehouse.
