Fire Destroys Harvey Home

CHICAGO (CBS) -- No one was injured Friday morning, when a home in south suburban Harvey burned to the ground.

Harvey firefighters responded to a blaze at a house at 159th Street and Park Avenue around 5:30 a.m.

The house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, and a couple neighboring homes were evacuated as a precaution.

The home was totally destroyed in the blaze, according to Harvey city spokesman Sean Howard. Crews also could be seen dousing the roof of at least one neighboring home in water to prevent it from catching fire.

No injuries were reported.
