'Ferris Bueller House' Sold After Five Years On The Market
(CBS) – The North Shore glass residence known for its cameo in "Ferris Beuller's Day Off" has finally been sold, for a little more than $1 million, according to a published report.
The modernist-style complex in Highland Park had been on the market since 2009. It sold for $1.06 million on Thursday -- down significantly from its original asking price of $2.3 million – Crain's Chicago Business reported.
The setting provided a memorable backdrop as the home of Ferris Bueller's best friend Cameron in director John Hughes' 1986 comedy. It's where Cameron's father keeps a coveted convertible that troublemaker Bueller "borrows" for a jaunt to Chicago.
