Female Cab Driver Killed In I-90 Accident In Hoffman Estates

(CBS) -- A female cab driver was killed in a crash early Sunday after her vehicle was rear-ended by an SUV and exploded.

State Police say the cab became "fully engulfed" in flames.

The accident happened at I-90 at Beverly Road in Hoffman Estates. Melba R. Farr, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was not injured in the crash.

Police say the cab was either stopped or was in the process of backing up in traffic.

State Police are investigating.
