FBI: Man Robs Third Bank In A Month

(STMW) -- A man robbed a Belmont Gardens neighborhood bank Thursday afternoon in his third heist in about a month, according to the FBI.

At 2:12 p.m., he walked into the Chase Bank branch at 3339 W. Belmont Ave., handed a teller a note demanding money, according to Chicago Police and the FBI.

The robber didn't show a weapon and took off with the cash eastbound on Belmont, police said.

Authorities think the same man robbed the Chase branch at 3335 N. Ashland Ave. on Aug. 27 and a PNC Bank branch at 201 N. Lincoln Ave. Aug. 21.

He is described as a 6-foot-2, white man between 180 and 210 pounds wearing a blue Chicago Bears cap, blue jeans, black shoes and a T-shirt, FBI spokeswoman Joan Hyde said.

Anyone with information should call the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
