FBI: Man Arrested After Naperville Bank Robbery

(STMW) -- A man suspected of robbing a PNC Bank branch in west suburban Naperville Friday afternoon was arrested.

The robbery at the PNC Bank at 9 E. Ogden Ave. happened about 2:30 p.m., FBI spokeswoman Joan Hyde said in a release.

He implied he had a weapon, but did not display one, and nobody was hurt, Hyde said.

The suspected robber was taken into custody a short time later and charges are pending, Hyde said.

The robbery prompted nearby North Central College to issue a bulletin telling students and faculty members to "be advised of increased police presence in the area north of campus."

It was one of two robberies reported in the Chicago area Friday. A Chase bank branch in an unincorporated area of Glen Ellyn was also robbed.
