Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash Closes Multiple Lanes On Dan Ryan Expressway

CHICAGO (CBS)-- One person died in a crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway early Thursday morning.

The single-vehicle crash happened near 95th Street around 2:30 a.m. Multiple southbound lanes were blocked off overnight as crews responded to the crash.

According to Illinois State Police, the driver was on an exit ramp, veered left to remain on the expressway and lost control of the vehicle. This caused the driver to crash into the right side guardrail.

The 32-year-old male driver was pronounced dead after he was ejected from the vehicle.

All lanes are now open.

A police investigation is underway.

This is a developing story.
