Fan At Wisconsin Game Dressed In Obama Mask With Noose

(CBS) -- A fan attending Saturday's University of Wisconsin football game appeared in costume as President Obama with a noose around his neck.

The fan was wearing a prison outfit with a mask of the president.

The University was alerted to the incident via social media.

In a corresponding video, it appears another fan was dressed as Donald Trump. The fan with the Obama mask also had a mask depicting Hillary Clinton.

The university said the fans were asked to remove the masks.

In a statement, the university said:

"The costume, while repugnant and counter to the values of the university and Athletic Department, was an exercise of the individual's right to free speech. The university also exercised its rights by asking the individual to remove the offensive parts of the costume."

It was not known if the person wore the mask and noose into the game or changed inside Camp Randall Stadium, where the Badgers were playing Nebraska.

The university said that it's against their security policy for fans to wear masks when they enter the stadium, but they're allowed to wear them once inside.
