Family Urges Public To Help Find Daughter's Killer

(CBS) -- Mark Richards says it's been an excruciating year.

"It's an exhaustive process, it's discouraging that just looking at the totality of the incidents and how an arrest has not been made," Richards said.

His step daughter Rachel Galbreath was found beaten to death inside her South Holland home on May 9 of last year. He says he hopes a social media blitz will get the word out and remind people of his daughter's cold case.

"We need to keep the case alive. We're asking anyone to come forward who has any information. This is such a mystery. We have no idea what happened to Rachel," Richards said.

The Justice for Rachel Galbreath Facebook page was set up not only as a memorial to the 33 year old but as a plea to the public to help her family and police find the person who killed her.

Richards says Galbreath was last seen at work the night before she was murdered and had just broken up with her boyfriend. That man was questioned and released.
