Family Escapes Before Fire Destroys Apartment In Calumet City

CHICAGO (CBS)-- Several Calumet City families are safe after escaping from a fire that gutted a home on Madison Avenue.

The family who lives in the apartment made it out.

The two houses next door both almost caught fire.

One neighbor, Michelle Brown, rushed her kids out the door when she saw flames from her window.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
