Families Still Struggling With Horrific Discovery In Riverdale Garage

(CBS) -- Family members are struggling to make sense of the discovery of the remains of their loved ones inside a Riverdale garage.

"We just knew that he was at peace. And this was not the case," Pamela Dandridge says of Andre Mabrey, to whom she was married for 20 years.

He died almost two years ago, and this week, in the Riverdale garage of an unlicensed funeral director, his cremains were found.

Dandridge says Andre Mabrey had five children, now all in their 20s.

She says she is trying to understand how the cremated remains would have been in the garage.

She knows the owner, Anton Godfrey, who died last month.

"He would help any and everybody as well," Dandridge says.

She says she cannot explain what happened.  "That's not the Anton that I know," she says.
