Englewood Man Charged With Shooting At Police

CHICAGO (STMW) -- An Englewood man has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting at two Chicago Police officers early Wednesday.

Elijah Williams, 20, was charged late Thursday with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault/discharge of a firearm and one count of unlawful use of a weapon, police announced early Friday.

Williams, of the 1100 block of West Marquette Road, allegedly shot at two police officers about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 2000 block of West Marquette, police said. No officers were injured and a weapon was recovered.

Williams is scheduled to appear in bond court Friday.
