(CBS) -- An Elgin woman is one of five finalists up for the International Pet Sitter of the Year award this year.

Carrie Feinberg has worked with animals her whole life.

When she opened Safe Haven Advocate Pet Care and Photography in Elgin two years ago, she started with 10 clients. Now, she has more than 200.

Feinberg is one of the top five finalists, winnowed from hundreds of nominees. Nominations for the award are received from professional pet-sitters' clients, pet-care peers and pet professionals such as veterinarians.

The five finalists move on to the next phase of the judging process and the winner will be announced in March.

The winner, along with the other four finalists, will also be recognized at PSI's 2016 Pet Sitter World Educational Conference & Expo this September in San Diego, Calif.
