Elgin Man Charged With Arson Fire In Dundee Township
(CBS) -- A 27-year-old man Elgin man is now charged with arson - accused of setting a fire in a neighborhood in Dundee Township last week.
The fire was last Wednesday afternoon - and the man charged is Phokam Prisayana.
Kane County Sheriff's Lieutenant Pat Gengler says Prisayana is accused of setting the fire in the home that was under renovation in a rather remote area of Dundee Township.
"The property where the fire occurred, at one point in time, had been used for a church. There was the house which was burned and then there was an outbuilding that had been used for a church. And this man may have been involved with that church back when it occupied that property."
Lieutenant Gengler says that after the fire started, a neighbor held Prisayana on the scene until authorities got there.
