Electrical Fire Suspected As Cause Of Evanston Blaze

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A electrical fire was suspected as the cause of a blaze at a house in north suburban Evanston Thursday afternoon.

At 12:27 p.m., firefighters were sent to a home in the 2400 block of Prospect Avenue, according to a statement from the Evanston Fire Department. Firefighters found a fire in the basement with flames traveling up the interior walls of the house.

The fire was put out with moderate damage to the home, the department said. The cause remained under investigation Thursday night, but an electrical fire was suspected.
