Elderly Woman Airlifted To Hospital After Early Morning Crash

AURORA, Ill. (STMW) -- A 73-year-old woman is facing life-threatening injuries after an early Thursday crash in west suburban Aurora.

The incident happened at 12:45 a.m. near 75th Street and the curve at Route 34, according to Aurora spokesman Dan Ferrelli. The woman was traveling westbound in her Cadillac sedan when it hit a median, crossed over eastbound lanes and rolled over into a ditch, Ferrelli said.

The Palos Park woman was taken to an Aurora hospital but was later airlifted to a Chicago hospital with life-threatening injuries, Ferrelli said.

It was not immediately known which hospital the woman was taken to.
