Elderly Man With Dementia, Diabetes Missing From Edgewater

CHICAGO (STMW) -- An 80-year-old man with dementia and diabetes was reported missing from the Edgewater neighborhood on the North Side.

James Thomas was last seen about 2:15 p.m. Friday before he left his home in the 1400 block of West Elmdale without telling anyone, according to a missing person alert issued by police.

Thomas was described as a black man standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 150 pounds, police said. He has brown eyes, gray hair and a dark complexion. He also suffers from high blood pressure.

Thomas has been known to visit Senn Park, 5887 N. Ridge, as well as stores along Broadway and Clark Street near his home on Elmdale, police said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at (312) 744-8266.
