Elderly Man Falls Into Septic Tank

CHICAGO (CBS) -- This story smells.

Warrenville Fire Protection District firefighters were called to a home at 29W571 Albright late Wednesday afternoon by the wife of a 78-year-old man who slid head first into his septic tank while working on the tank's pump.

Assistant Chief Jamie Clark said the man essentially stood on his head for 15 minutes.

"All that was out of the tank were his ankles and his feet," Clark said. "He slid in onto his head, and he was resting on his head."
