After hearing the gunshots, law enforcement took about a half-dozen of neighbors to safety from a two flat apartment near Lakewood and Rosemont Avenue.

The standoff ended around 6 a.m. Saturday morning.

A man who was visiting an apartment there says some people inside threw a party. He believes two men tried to get in and an argument followed.

Mark Johnson says he heard the shots and hit the floor.

"At that point we didn't know what was going on," Johnson said. "We heard the shots and everyone was just running for cover."
