3-Vehicle Crash On Edens Expressway Leaves 1 Dead, Northbound Lanes Closed

SKOKIE, Ill. (CBS)-- Three vehicles were involved in a fatal crash near Skokie on the Edens Expressway early Sunday.

State police said all three vehicles were headed north when they crashed into one another just after 1:30 a.m. The driver of a black 2014 BMW sedan lost control of his vehicle and struck a black 2014 Chevrolet sedan and a white 2013 Toyota taxi, state police said.

The Toyota taxi flipped over and its driver was killed, police said. He was identified as Jayson Sun Joo Park, 69, of Morton Grove, police said.

The driver of the BMW – a 25-year-old man – along with his two passengers – a 32-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, state police said. Also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries was the 26-year-old woman driving the Chevrolet, state police said.

All northbound lanes on the Edens were shut down at Touhy Avenue, state police said. All northbound lanes reopened at 8:15 a.m.
