Earthquake rattles southern Illinois on Thursday

CHICAGO (CBS) -- It's not something we hear about every day, but it does happen.

A small earthquake rattled parts of southern Illinois on Thursday. The 2.4 magnitude earthquake happened around 6:15 in the morning near Cairo.

That's about two and a half-hours south of St. Louis near the Missouri-Illinois-Kentucky state lines.
