DuPage Convalescent Center Looking For Donations For Its Adopt-A-Resident Program

(CBS) -- The DuPage Convalescent Center is looking for folks to adopt a resident this holiday season, reports WBBM's Mariam Sobh.

Anyone in the community can participate and adopt a resident. Barbara Kolton heads up the annual tradition

"For the holidays for Christmastime, we send letters out to people and volunteers and staff," she said.

The letters asks for people across the community to adopt a resident or two or three.

"Residents fill out wish lists of items that they would like to receive," she said.

And then gifts are bought, wrapped, and dropped off.

Kolton says the holiday party takes place on December 20 and that's when residents will receive their gifts and celebrate.
