Duncan Keith On Outside Noise Surrounding Blackhawks: 'So Much BS'

(CBS) A day after the Blackhawks scoffed at rumors of locker room strife and off-ice issues, assistant captain Duncan Keith called the outside noise "so much BS."

"It seems there's so much BS out there that, I don't know where it comes from," Keith said. "I don't know who makes that stuff up and where they get off saying those types of things. I think (Patrick Sharp) said -- it would be comical and laughable if it wasn't you and your family involved in those type of things and dragging other people into it. We've a close group here. We've played with one another for a long time. All these rumors and stuff, it's just a bunch of BS to us players. We're out here playing hockey. We love our teammates. Whatever gets said outside of our locker room shouldn't really matter. But when it gets to be something ridiculous like that, I think it needs to be addressed."

Patrick Sharp has been at the center of much of the speculation, with Internet rumors regarding him ranging from infidelity to troubles with teammates.

"I feel like you hear things said about people all the time, it's like anybody can type something on a computer and get away with it and not be held responsible or accountable," Sharp said Sunday. "I mentioned earlier, it is laughable, it's comical, but when it affects your family, when you've got two little girls at home, and your parents are calling you, it takes a toll."

On Monday, Keith backed up Sharp and his teammates.

"I don't know who's making that crap up," Keith said, adding that the rumors won't have an effect on how the Blackhawks play on the ice.

"It's no different. It doesn't make it any more difficult for us to go out as a team and do what we have to do and focus on what we have to focus on."
