Ducklings Rescued From Under Roadside Grate In Willowbrook
(CBS) -- It was a harrowing Mother's Day for one mother duck whose ducklings had fallen into a grate and she couldn't get them out.
It happened along the very busy Kingery Highway in Willowbrook Sunday morning.
"We got out, looked down and saw the baby ducks in the sewer," said Kim Regep. "I went in the gas station, got a box and he pulled the lid off, he reached in and got the baby ducks out of the sewer."
Mom and ducklings were coaxed to a nearby retention pond and were happily reunited thanks to the kind work of that driver who turned around and got involved.
