Driver Shot On Eisenhower Expressway At Harlem Avenue, State Police Say

OAK PARK, Ill. (CBS) -- A driver was shot on the Eisenhower Expressway at Harlem Avenue Saturday afternoon, Illinois State Police said.

The incident happened at 3:28 p.m.

State police were called to an area hospital after learning the hospital was treating a walk-in patient who reported being shot on the eastbound Eisenhower at Harlem Avenue.

The 32-year-old Broadview man, who had been driving in his car at the time, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, state police said. The 28-year-old Chicago woman in the car with him was not injured

Within half an hour, all eastbound lanes were closed for an investigation, and traffic was diverted off the expressway at the Des Plaines Avenue ramp.

By 5:30 p.m., the left lane was back open.
