Driver Injured After Car Hits Vehicles, Building On West Side

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A driver was injured after the vehicle he was driving struck a car and a van, then crashed into a West Side building early Tuesday.

A speeding car was heading east on Madison Street about 2:30 a.m. when it struck a van near Keeler Avenue, police said.

The car then struck another car and a fire hydrant before hitting a building.

The driver, a man described only as an adult, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in guarded condition, police said. No one else was injured.

Citations are pending against the driver.
