Man Charged In Logan Square Hit-And-Run

CHICAGO (CBS/STMW) -- A driver has been charged in a hit-and-run accident that left a pedestrian injured early Wednesday in the Northwest Side Logan Square neighborhood.

The male pedestrian was struck by the vehicle about 12:15 a.m. in the 2700 block of North Hamlin Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said, citing preliminary information. The vehicle then drove away.

Daniel Gluckman, 34, has been charged with aggravated battery, aggravated fleeing, and possession of a controlled substance.

The victim, whose age was not immediately available, was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in "stable" condition, Greer said.

Police saw the vehicle a short time later and a pursuit ensued, Greer said. The Gluckman was taken into custody near the intersection of Le Moyne Street and Monticello Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.
