2 cars wrecked in crash in Country Club Hills, Illinois

Five people were injured Thursday afternoon in a violent car crash in Country Club Hills, Illinois, south of Chicago.

At 4:15 p.m., County Club Hills police were called for the rollover crash on Cicero Avenue at 184th Street. Police said a Dodge Coup was headed north on Cicero Avenue when it struck a Toyota minivan crossing the intersection.

Two occupants of the minivan were rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Two others in the minivan and the driver of the Dodge were taken to Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest with various injuries, police said.

The South Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team was assisting Country Club Hills police investigators to determine the exact cause of the crash.
