Doug Buffone To Be Honored Posthumously With Ring Lardner Award

(CBS) Former Bears linebacker and 670 The Score personality Doug Buffone will be honored posthumously with a Ring Lardner Award for excellence in sports journalism, the Tribune reported.

A longtime co-host for Bears postgame shows alongside Ed O'Bradovich before he passed away last April at 70, Buffone was beloved for his passion and raw emotion in breaking down Bears' wins and losses, and he was just as sincere away from the microphone as he was fiery in front of it.

The presentation of the awards will be in April. Blackhawks broadcaster Eddie Olczyk and sportswriter Ron Rapoport will also be honored, according to the Tribune.
