Dog Dies Near Construction Site With Electrified Fence In Old Town

(CBS) -- Chicago Police say an electrified fence at an Old Town construction site has been cordoned off now after the death of a dog Monday afternoon near the site.

Police say a man was walking a dog in the 1400 block of North Sedgwick near Schiller when the dog started barking and howling and when the man touched the dog, the dog bit his left hand.

Police say the man felt an electric current and went to a hospital to be checked out. The dog died.

A spokeswoman for police says a fence at a construction site in that block was found to be electrified and a construction crew has now put of caution tape and cones, blocking off the area.
