Dixmoor Trustee Charged With Domestic, Simple Battery

(CBS) -- Dixmoor Village Trustee Michael Smith has been charged with domestic and simple battery after an incident early Saturday morning, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Department.

Police say they received a 9-1-1 call around 3:50 a.m. from a woman saying she was being physically abused. Police arrived at the home in the 14000 block of Wood Street in Dixmoor and took Smith into custody.

Smith is charged with one count of domestic battery and one count of simple battery. According to the Cook County Sheriff's Department, there were three women in the home with Smith at the time.
