U Of I Students Sing Christmas Carols For Callers From Around The World

(CBS) -- If the weather isn't helping put you in the Christmas spirit, there's a phone line at the University of Illinois that might, reports WBBM's Nancy Harty.

Dial-a-Carol has been around for more than a half-century. Students at Snyder Hall have taken more than 7,000 calls for Christmas Carols since Thursday, when this year's program began, breaking the previous record.

In between studying for finals and celebrating the end of the first semester, students sing carols to people who call in from all over the world. Callers have until midnight Thursday to make a request.
The phone number is (217) 332-1882.
