Suspicious Package Leads To Evacuation Of Des Plaines Good Will Store

(CBS) -- A Good Will in Des Plaines was evacuated Saturday afternoon after an employee discovered what they believed to be an explosive device in a donated package, according to Des Plaines police.

Around 3 p.m., the employee walked the item to the parking lot in the rear of the business in the 1500 block of S. Lee and called police. After arriving on the scene, police determined that it was suspicious and evacuated the business. After investigation determined that it was a "hoax device."

Bomb-sniffing dogs searched the business and did not detect the presence of explosives. The incident is under investigation.
