Derrick Rose Out Against Knicks

(CBS) Bulls point guard Derrick Rose won't play Thursday night against the Knicks as he deals with an illness, Chicago coach Tom Thibodeau said.

Rose isn't at the United Center, and it remains uncertain if he'll travel to Memphis after the game. The Bulls play the Grizzlies on Friday night.

"We're not ruling anything out," Thibodeau said. "I don't know how he'll feel tomorrow."

This will be the ninth game Rose has missed this season. He's previously been out for ankle and hamstring injuries.

Kirk Hinrich will likely start in Rose's place.

Bulls forward Taj Gibson (right ankle) remains a game-time decision. Bulls big man Joakim Noah (ankle) will play.

Knicks star forward Carmelo Anthony will miss the game too as he deals with knee soreness. Big man Amare Stoudemire will play after previously planning to sit out.
