DePaul Tops Northern Illinois, 78-67

ROESMONT, Ill. (AP) — Myke Henry and Billy Garrett Jr. each scored 15 points, Forrest Robinson added 14, including four 3-pointers, and DePaul beat Northern Illinois 78-67 on Tuesday.

Tommy Hamilton IV and James Crockett scored 13 points apiece and Durrell McDonald had nine assists for the Blue Demons (4-1).

Aaric Armstead scored 16 points for Northern Illinois (3-2), and Darrell Bowie and Chuks Iroegbu scored 15 each.

Northern Illinois out-rebounded DePaul 34-22, but had 21 turnovers, and the Blue Demons made 11 of 22 3-pointers while the Huskies hit 2 of 11.

There were eight lead changes and five ties in the first half before Garrett hit a layup and a free throw amid a 14-2 run the Blue Demons used to pull to a 38-29 halftime lead.

Henry hit a 3 and a dunk in a 9-2 run and DePaul pulled away early in the second half. The Huskies gained ground on an 11-1 run, but couldn't close.
