Denzel Valentine's Heroics Give Bulls The Summer League Title

(CBS) The Bulls may have found something in first-round pick Denzel Valentine.

With Chicago's chances looking bleak against Minnesota in the waning seconds of regulation of the Summer League championship in Las Vegas on Monday night, Valentine hit a tying 3-pointer with less than one second left, then followed that up with a buzzer-beating free-throw line jumper in the extra session to give the Bulls an 84-82 win and the title.

Valentine's heroics capped off a 7-0 run through the Summer League for the Bulls, who had five players on the team who are likely to make their regular-season roster. One of those is second-year power forward Bobby Portis, who had a team-high 26 points and 10 rebounds. Second-year guard Jerian Grant added 24 points and 10 rebounds in the title.

Valentine's two huge buckets were the only five points he had in the game, as he shot poorly for most of the night. He added eight rebounds and three assists.

Here's a look at Valentine's 3-pointer that sent the game into overtime.
