Demontre Hurst Rejoins Bears' Practice Squad

(CBS) Defensive back Demontre Hurst has been re-signed to the Bears' practice squad, the team announced Wednesday.

Hurst was waived on Monday in a move to bring cornerback Bryce Callahan to the active roster. Hurst was passed through waivers and rejoined the Bears' practice squad.

In two seasons with the Bears, Hurst has played in 18 games, including two starts. He's recorded 36 tackles, an interception and has forced a fumble, while also playing a key special teams role.

An undrafted rookie out of Oklahoma, Hurst joined the Bears in 2013, spending the season with the practice squad.

The Bears are in their bye week, before returning home to host the Minnesota Vikings on Nov. 1 at Soldier Field.
