Woman, 50, Found Dead In Hinsdale Home

(CBS) – Police in the normally quiet west suburb of Hinsdale are conducting a homicide investigation after a 50-year-old woman was found dead inside her home.

A family member called 9-1-1 around 4 p.m. Thursday to report an unresponsive victim at 745 Town Place. There, officers found the body of Andrea Urban, a mother of two minors, Police Chief Kevin Simpson told reporters.

Simpson said the death does not appear to be a "random act."

Still, he advised residents to "take the steps you normally would during the course of any other day to keep your home and your family safe."

Police closed streets as they began their investigation and canvassed the neighborhood. Detectives are pursuing leads, Simpson said. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (630) 789-7070.

Urban's children were placed with relatives, the police chief said.

Hinsdale police are working with regional authorities.
