Davis, Bluiett Lead Xavier Past DePaul 89-76

CINCINNATI (AP) — Myles Davis scored 25 points and Trevon Bluiett 21, both career highs, and Xavier rallied in the second half for an 89-76 victory over DePaul on Saturday.

Matt Stainbrook was 7 for 7 in adding 17 points for the Musketeers (13-7, 4-4 Big East), who were down eight points at halftime.

The Musketeers hit 17 of 26 attempts in shooting 65.4 percent in the second half, 57.4 for the game. They made only 3 of 17 3-pointers but dominated inside with a 52-24 scoring advantage. Xavier only had five turnovers and made nine steals, five by Dee Davis, in picking up 17 points off 14 turnovers by the Blue Demons.

DePaul (11-10, 5-3) shot 63.3 percent in the first half when it made 11 of 19 3-pointers, but plummeted to 30 percent in the second half and just 2 of 13 from the arc. Tommy Hamilton scored 15 points.
