Darling Will Be Back In Goal For Blackhawks

(CBS) A terrific NHL debut has earned Scott Darling another start for the Blackhawks in goal tonight against the Ducks at the United Center.

With starter Corey Crawford out with an injury, Darling saved 32 shots in Chicago's 2-1 win against Ottawa on Sunday. It was enough for Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville to give Darling the call over Antti Raanta as Crawford continues to recover from an upper-body injury. Raanta had started three games before Darling's debut.

"Certainly, his play is the reason he's getting right back in there," Quenneville said, according to the Tribune. "Rock solid every time he's been in the net for us, from preseason scrimmages to exhibition games to last game (and) he did well in Rockford. He's played very well. A chance to come right back."

As for when he may return, Crawford told the Tribune, "I'm getting pretty close" and added he may return as early as Thursday on the road at Ottawa.
