Vigil, search party held for Chicago man Daniel Davis, missing for 2 weeks after car crash

A candlelight vigil was held Tuesday night as friends and family continue their search for a South Side man who has been missing for two weeks since a car crash in Blue Island, Illinois.

Daniel Davis III, 59, was last seen on Nov. 26 around 6:30 p.m. after a car accident near St. Donatus Parish in Blue Island, where he refused medical attention.

He was captured on surveillance video around the area and is believed to have suffered a head injury.

Chicago police said Davis was last seen in person at 1:15 a.m., leaving the 115 Bourbon Street bar in Merrionette Park, Illinois, a place where he worked behind the scenes in production. That's also where Tuesday's candlelight vigil was held.

"I catch myself stapling a flyer of my missing dad to a telephone pole, and I'm like, 'What am I doing?" Davis' daughter Wendy said. "He is a man of routine. He spends time at home, and at work, and with a friend, and that's like it."

"He's somebody who never missed a day of work - ever," Nick said.

"If he was ok in the head right now, he wouldn't be missing," Wendy said.

After the vigil, Wendy organized a search in four zones for people to look for her dad. She says she does not know if her dad is hurt or has a medical issue.

"I know he would drop the world for me, and I wish he could see how many people are doing the same thing for him. Like he would not believe it." Wendy said.

Davis is described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, around 170 pounds, and is partially bald with some gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, a black Harley Davidson jacket, a red sweatshirt, and black jeans. CPD said he may be in need of medical attention.

The owner of 115 Bourbon Street says they have tons of people calling with tips. However, if anyone does have any information, they are asked to call the Chicago Police.
