Cyclist Struck, Killed By Brown Line Train In Albany Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 31-year-old cyclist was struck and killed by a Brown Line train early Thursday on the North Side.

About 12:20 a.m., a man riding his bike was struck by a northbound train as he attempted to go around the gates near the CTA Kimball station in the 4700 block of North Kedzie Avenue, police said.

The man was identified as Ronayne Thomas, of the 1900 block of North Drake Avenue, and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Some Brown Line trains heading northbound were suspended for more than an hour, the CTA said.
