Cubs' Zach Rosscup Undergoes Shoulder Surgery, Won't Throw For 3 Months

(CBS) Cubs left-handed reliever Zac Rosscup has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder and will be sidelined for months.

Rosscup had suffered from left shoulder inflammation since last June, when he was sidelined for several months before returning in September. The same injury was an issue in spring training this year, and Rosscup opened the season on the 60-day disabled list.

Rosscup won't throw for at least three months, then will still need time to work into form.

Rosscup had a 4.33 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 33 appearances for the Cubs in 2015.
