Cubs' Willson Contreras Named NL Player Of The Week

(CBS) Cubs catcher Willson Contreras has been named the National League Player of the Week.

The honor comes after the 25-year-old Contreras had a torrid six-game stretch, going 10-of-22 (.455) with five homers, 13 RBIs, six runs and a 1.660 OPS.

Contreras is hitting .281 with 21 homers and 70 RBIs this season. His home run total is tied for the most among MLB catchers with the Royals' Salvador Perez, and his 70 RBIs leads all catchers.
