Cubs Trim Spring Roster By 7 Players, Send Dan Vogelbach To Triple-A

(CBS) The Cubs reduced their spring roster to 56 players Monday by sending three players to Triple-A Iowa and assigning four more players to minor league camp.

Most notable was the move of infielder Dan Vogelbach to Triple-A Iowa. Vogelbach hit .279 with seven homers, 39 RBIs and an .828 OPS in 2015 in the minors.

The Cubs also sent left-hander Erik Jokisch and right-hander Andury Acevedo to Triple-A.

Chciago assigned right-handed Jonathan Pettibone, right-hander Duane Underwood Jr., right-hander Armando Rivero and left-handed Jack Leathersich to minor league camp.
