Cubs Sport Track Suits In Embarking On Road Trip

(CBS) The Cubs showed off more new threads Sunday as they left Wrigley Field to embark on a nine-game road trip.

Adhering to manager Joe Maddon's latest themed trip, the Cubs wore track suits with their nicknames on the back. It was Maddon's latest trick to keep the atmosphere loose.

"I hope I never grow up," Maddon said earlier Sunday in explaining his approach.

In early May, the Cubs had a zany suit-themed trip that featured patterns and color groupings that most couldn't even have imagined. Last year, they also had a pajama-themed trip home in late August, which coincided with ace Jake Arrieta firing a no-hitter before the team hopped the plane to head back to Chicago. That famously resulted in Arrieta posing for pictures in a onesie after a historic performance.
