Cubs Sign Joel Pineiro To Minor League Contract

(CBS) The Cubs have signed 35-year-old right-hander Joel Pineiro to a minor league contract.

Pineiro hasn't pitched in the big leagues since 2011, when he went 7-7 with a 5.13 ERA in 145 2/3 innings for the Angels. He will report to extended spring training, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Pineiro has a career 4.41 ERA.
