Cubs Sign 3rd-Round Pick Thomas Hatch

(CBS) The Cubs have signed right-hander Thomas Hatch, their third-round pick at No. 104 overall in June's amateur draft.

The 21-year-old Hatch went 9-3 with a 2.14 ERA at Oklahoma State last season.

Chicago has now signed 21 of its 38 picks ahead of next Friday's deadline. That includes the Cubs' top eight picks.
