Cubs' Schwarber Promoted To Class-A Daytona

(CBS) It took five games for Cubs first-round pick Kyle Schwarber to get promoted from short-season Class-A ball to low Class-A after he hit .600 in Boise.

Now, it's taken 23 games for Schwarber to move on again.

After batting .361 with four homers, 15 RBIs and a 1.050 OPS at low Class-A Kane County, Schwarber has been promoted to high Class-A Daytona, according to multiple reports.

The Cubs selected Schwarber, a catcher who could eventually project as a corner outfielder, with the fourth overall pick in June's amateur draft after he finished a standout junior season at Indiana in which he hit .358 with 14 homers, 48 RBIs and a 1.123 OPS.
