Cubs' Rally Past Giants Was Of Historic Proportions

(CBS) Everyone who watched the Cubs' four-run rally in the ninth inning to steal a 6-5 win against the Giants in Game 4 on Tuesday night and clinch the National League Divisional Series knew it was wild, most notably those included.

Veterans David Ross and John Lackey both called it the most amazing game they've ever been apart of.

"The craziest thing I've ever seen," Lackey said.

Just how crazy? Well, the Cubs became just the second team in history to come back from a three-run deficit in the ninth inning to win a postseason series clincher, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. The 1986 Mets were the first team to do it in clinching the NLCS en route to a World Series title.

The Cubs' rally came quickly, as they scored three runs for the tie even before the Giants recorded an out. Chicago took the lead on Javier Baez's RBI single.

"We don't quit," Cubs manager Joe Maddon said. "You hear everyone say it, but you have to live it."
